Parnassus, located on the western side of the island, just below West Strawberry, and north of Southport, is the student neighborhood. It comprises all of the Parnassus College campus, as well as Strawberry Hill, which runs west uphill from the campus towards downtown. Parnassus residents are almost all college students, and Parnassus College is Strawberry's only conventional institution of higher learning. Most of the students live in dorms on campus at the bottom of Strawberry Hill.

Parnassus is awash in bars, restaurants and even small clubs. The Elysian Springs is a coffee shop by day and bar by night that is especially popular with the students. Parnassus also has a lot of small arts venues - theater companies, music clubs, and artist studios that are frequented by the residents of the neighborhood. Students enjoy spending time by Strawberry Pond, as well as at Corcyan Quarter, a public garden located just behind campus.
